Home Stretch

As this semester is coming to a close I feel that my experience has been eye opening. Technology no longer eludes me. I feel that I am better armed with the tools needed to be able to interact with students and keep them engaged in the learning process! The variation of assignments kept the learning experience challenging, and allowed me to build upon my previous knowledge base.

Updates

I am amazed at what I have learned in such a short time. I almost don't feel "lost in technology" anymore. I feel like I can utilize all this new information in the future and relate better to students' needs. As I prepare to change careers and enter a new "adventure" in life, I feel like I will be prepared. The medical field is exciting, but I since I've had my two children, I feel that my life has changed direction. The tools that I am learning now will not only help me in my career, but enable me to help my children in their learning adventure.

Technology

I am amazed at all the new information that I have learned about in the past few weeks. I never thought that I would have a blog or even use it in the future as a learning tool for students! Then, I learned about how to create a glog! I can see how these tools of technology can be an invaluable learning experience for our technology savvy students. The use of twitter in the teaching world is also an amazing resource for teachers to become open to many great ideas for their lessons. I could spend endless amount of hours researching teaching techniques.

Bits and Pieces

     A lot of this information is very new to me. It has been a great learning experience so far, one that is much needed. I often think of children (like my two young daughters) who are growing up in a world where technology is advancing so fast that their elders might continually struggle to keep the pace. These children will be natural experts on so much of what is amazingly complex to people of my generation. I am excited to learn with them and from them to be able to succeed as an educator.
